The Pirate Captain is the captain of a pirate ship that was stuck in the Bermuda Triangle sargasso for nearly ten years. He and his crew of Ghost Pirates managed to survive by tricking other ships into beleiving that they were in fact ghosts. Eventually when the Venture Family came along on their ship, the X-2, he attempted to scare them as well and steal it in hopes of finally escaping the sargasso. This time the plan did not work but in the end he wound up asking Brock for a ride home to land.

Upon returning to land he and his crew were employed by Jonas Venture Jr. at his base on Spider-Skull Island. The Pirate Captain became the new captain of the X-2, before it was dismantled, once it was given to Jonas Jr. While under his employ the Pirate Captain seemed to become good friends with Jonas. He even control's the right arm, complete with enegy blade, of the fabulous Ventronic flying robot that was used to battle The Monarch. He and his pirate crew remained at Spider-Skull Island after it was turned into the Jonas Venture Jr. Museum of Jonas Venture as workers and caretakers of the museum. During the grand opening of the museum he and his crew decide they are tired of being ordered around by Jonas Jr. and revolt. He later for a short time also became addicted to tranquilizers after being darted by Mr. Doe and Mr. Cardholder. He compares the feeling to "Gettin' sucked off by an angel".
