When Hank is forced to get a summer job by his father, he opens up a HankCo market and starts a detective agency as a side business. Quickly he and his sidekick, The Alchemist, are whisked into the dark secrets surrounding the Fictel family.

• With Dean and the rest of the Venture family away in New York, Hank is told to get a job by the time his dad returns. The entrepreneur in him thinks up starting a convenience store/cafe/notary service/detective agency in the X-1 hangar.
• He takes on the "case" of Dermott Fictel not getting picked up by his mother. In the process he learns that Dermott believes his dad is Brock Samson.
• With the help of Al, Hank takes on the case of discovering the identity of Dermott's father. He seeks out the local strip club, The Monarch's henchmen, and even Brock himself.
• In a visit to the Fictel trailer he is seduced by Dermott's much older sister, Nikki, who has a thing for boy adventurers. Hank bangs her, losing his virginity.
• Through a pair of enchanted keys, Hank inadvertently learns that Dermott is in fact Dr. Venture's bastard son conceived when Nikki was the 15-year-old president of the Rusty Venture fan club.
• Dermott's biological mom is actually his older 32 year old sister!
• Hank has his memory wiped by SPHINX but leaves a video message on his watch informing his future self that he's no longer a virgin.
• Dean returns, and at the end of the episode a muscular and thick haired Rusty Venture steps out of a wormhole in the boys bedroom, dressed in Jonas Venture Sr.'s clothing.

• In Hank's pre-recorded message before his Memory Erase, Hank quoted the film "Total Recall" with the Arnold Schwarzenegger line "Get your ass to Mars." As the scenario is similar to the movie.

• When the Alchemist asks Dr. Orpheus for his advice about Hank's unsolved mystery he poses the question as a "Bewitched question" on the morality of using magic to help in every day life. Dr. O admits he has no qualms about it and in reference to the sitcom says he would do four things: "Make Darrin filthy rich, turn Mr. Tate into a donkey, tell Endora to get a life, and BLIND that nosy Mrs. Kravitz!!!" These are references to characters from 1960s sort-of-occult-themed sitcom 'Bewitched.'
• Actor Jack Nicholson grew up in a situation nearly identical to that of Dermott; the people he believed were his parents were in fact his grandparents, while his older sister was his biological mother.
